Patsy Ruth Griggs- Clark was born on January 20, 1950 to the late Annie Lee Griggs and Joseph Griggs. She was one of nine children this union was blessed with.
She Graduated from the historic Booker T. Washington High School in Wichita Falls. Patsy worked on Sheppard AFB for over twenty years in the housekeeping and food service departments until her health began to decline.
Patsy was a wise, no nonsense, love-able and caring woman. When she became mostly home bound around seventeen years ago, she said, “I will walk and do the things I used to do.” Well now we all know she is walking around Heaven now.
She was with Luther Hutchinson for a number of years in which she gave birth to Martha. Later she encountered a relationship with Johnny Ryan and gave birth to Latasha and Wataskie. She met her soul mate Porter Mayberry and she was with him until his passing in 2018. They shared thirty two years together.
Mom always knew what was going on before you told her, she could read you like a book. She thought she knew everything and she did. We just didn’t tell her because we would never hear the end of it.
On March 19, 2021 Patsy gained her wings and left behind the troubles of this world.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Annie Lee Griggs and Joseph Griggs, a daughter; Martha Hutchinson, a granddaughter; Natasha Clark, great-grandson; D’Andre Hutchinson, brothers; Lonnie Titus, Milton Griggs, Henry Griggs and Leo Griggs, sisters; Mary-Ann Griggs- Hutchinson, JoAnn Smith, Lucy Mae McDonald, nephew; Joseph Griggs and her soulmate; Porter Mayberry.
Those left to cherish her memory: her three children; Shemeka (Brian), Latasha (Joseph) and Wataskie (Latara), two sisters; Linda Odom, Nancy Camper, fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
