Murray Anthony Godwin, known to his friends and familyas Tony, passed away on February 20, 2021 in United Regional Hospital of Wichita Falls, Texas. He was second-born child to Murray and Helen Godwin of Indianapolis,Indiana who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Jacqueline Godwin, two sisters Kathryn
Stuart and Jan Grovenberry, and two sons, Leon Shagoury and Sean Stezaker. Uncle Tony is also survived
by 11 beloved nieces and nephews.
Tony was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and Indiana University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and graduated with a BA in Fine/Liberal Arts. After graduation, he worked for Godwin Company selling Flex-view mirrors and fork lift trucks. From 1988-1990 he honorably served the U.S. Cavalry as a Recon Scout 19D in Operation Desert Storm and later served the United States government in other roles. 1995, he entered Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, finishing
his studies in 1998. From 2006-2009, he was chief operating officer of Maya Airlines in Belize.
Tony had a fierce love for his wife Jacqueline and was quite attached to his furry companions, Cookie, Peanut and Bruiser. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Tony’s family will be providing a visitation service starting at 11:00 AM at Eddie Merlot’s restaurant on Saturday, May 15, 2021. A memorial service will be held at Noon followed by a reception celebrating Tony’s life. In lieu of flowers, we kindly request memorial donations to either the American Cancer Society, APSCA or the Hamilton County Humane Society.
