Sharon Kay Mick Coker, 66, of Vernon, TX, died on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in Wichita Falls, TX.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 1pm at Vernon Baptist Church, with Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. 

Sharon was born November 2, 1952, in Plattsburg, MO. She was the daughter of late Oza Lee Mick and Laura Lorine Taylor Mick. She married Charles Edgar “Charlie” Coker in a traditional Native American Indian Wedding Ceremony during the Red River Renegade Memorial Day Black Powder Shoot held annually in Electra, TX, in May 1991. They were joined under their traditional Indian names of “Too Short” for her and “One Eye” for him. She was employed at North Texas State Hospital where she retired after 25 years of service. After retiring Sharon enjoyed crafting, crocheting, target-shooting, driving her golf cart, and her lake home, but most of all her family, friends, and of course her great-grandbabies activities!

Sharon is survived by her husband Charlie Coker of the home; step-daughter Daphne Perkins of Vernon, TX; step-daughter Tamara Dann and Tim Gibson, of Corsicana, TX; four grandchildren, Kali Dann and Zack Nava and daughters, Alyssa and Halen; Harli and Joe Daniel Adams and 2 children, Saydi and Riyate; Bryson Perkins, all of Vernon, TX; and Jeremy Dann, of Wichita Falls, TX; 2 brothers, Dennis Mick and Marion Mick, of Plattsburg, MO, and 1 sister, Liz Hagerman, of Excelsior Springs, MO.

She is preceded in death by 5 brothers, John Henry Mick, Robert Mick, Donald Mick, Kenneth Mick, and Herman Mick; and 4 sisters, Helen Gillispie, Deloris Gordon, Geraldine Becker, and Carolyn Pierce.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls in lieu of flowers.
