Tammy Marie Sillemon Byrd was born on November 23, 1946, in Crowell, Texas, to the late Will Sillemon and Ethel Mae Sillemon.

She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for over fifty years and also held a position at the Crowell Cap Factory.

Being reared in church all of her life, she was very active serving in the choir, participated in the food ministry and mission visiting the sick and shut in.

Tammy was preceded in death by two of her children, her grandson Marcus Byrd, her parents, and her siblings: Lucy Ann McGee, Wallace “Toot” Sillemon, Billy James, Jessie James, Shirley Jean Curtis, Wilma Jean Coleman, Annie Thomas, Ethel Bee Cooper, and Elizabeth Swearengin.

She is survived by her children: Douglas Byrd (Carla), Gwendalyn Byrd, Pam Byrd, Kelly Byrd (Gwen), Benji Byrd (Patricia), and Phillip Byrd (Danessa). Additionally, she leaves behind twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include Marvin Sillemon, Eva Mae Neal, Joyce Pearson, and Abby Gail Casey (Jimmy). Tammy was also cherished by longtime family friend Irma, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
