On Monday, November 21, 2022, Talmadge Leonard Floyd transitioned from this world to be with his Heavenly Father at United Regional Hospital ICU surrounded by his family. Talmadge was born on February 12, 1941, in Conway, SC to the late Samuel P. Floyd, Sr. and Juanita Duncan Floyd.
Talmadge graduated from high school in Marion, SC. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he served 4 years before transferring to the Army. He was in the Army for 3 years before completing his career in the United States Air Force serving 21 years in that branch. During his military career, Talmadge did four tours in Vietnam. It was during his time in the USAF that he met his wife, Gloria J. Flye while stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base. The two were married November 9, 1968, and from this union had three beautiful daughters.
Upon retirement from the Air Force, Talmadge, or "Floyd" as many called him was employed by DynCorp and LSI, continuing his career as a Jet Engine Technician on Sheppard AFB. He would work the two corporations as a civil servant for another 20 plus years before retiring for good in 2016.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Ruby Floyd, and four siblings: brothers,
Weldon Floyd, Samuel Floyd, Jr., and Rufus Floyd, and sister, Sara Pearl Keel.
He leaves to continue his legacy and cherish his memories his three daughters: Tamilya Floyd-Davis (Michael, Sr.), Rosalyn Tindel, and Tausha Floyd, two grandsons, Antoine J. Davis and Michael Davis, Jr., three sisters-in-law: Cynthia Howard (Jerone), Pearl Farley (Arden), Ramona Flye (wife of the late Roosevelt Flye, Jr), a brother, Preston L. Mckever-Floyd, three sisters: Lynette F. Rose, Julie P. Floyd, and Carlotta Dee Porterfield, a favorite niece, Sharon McCaskill, many other family members, and close friends.
