Venneth “Mac” Jerome McDonald, Sr. was born to the late Joyce E. and Vernel J. McDonald on November 26, 1958, in Philadelphia, PA. He began his education in the School District of Philadelphia, finishing at North Penn High School in Montgomery County District. Immediately after completing high school, he joined the military.

In May of 1977, he joined the United States Air Force serving in multiple roles which included: a Service Craftsman, working in Diet Therapy as Nutritional Medicine Food Service Specialist and finally participating in Leadership School which ultimately allowed him to transition into a supervisory position. Mac received countless recognitions and awards which included one for serving active duty in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Venneth was honorably discharged in May 1997. Once leaving the military he worked at Saint – Gobain for over ten years, working until the company closed its doors on the very last day. Although short lived but a personal dream fulfilled, Venneth obtained his CDL license driving long-hauls for Werner Enterprises. Howmet Aerospace was graced with his professional expertise as his last hoorah before retiring. 

Mac was also affectionately called “McDonald” by his wife Deborah “Debbie” who he met working in Alaska in 1982. They married in 1991 and had a total of five children together. He had strong family values and made everyone he knew feel loved, valued, and appreciated.

Venneth/Mac/McDonald, regardless of what you called him was a calm in anyone’s storm. He had a strong belief in God and was baptized at a young age and raised at First Corinthian Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA., staying active and joining churches in every state he resided. He always presented himself with a sense of peace, cool and with a warm smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joyce E. and Rev. Vernel J. McDonald, and sister Lynda G. McDonald.

Venneth leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Debbie, his children: Christopher Nobles, Niésha Nobles – Carroll (Randy), Venneth J. McDonald, II (Kim), Victor J. McDonald (Staci) and Eddie Donnell; two sisters: Kym Griffin and Karen McDonald; a brother: Lindsay Anthony; sisters-in-law: Monica Smith (DeWayne), Sandra Brown, Sandra Faye Simmons, Valerie Mathis (Richard), Anita McCann; brothers-in-law: Preston Brown and Reginald Brown; 14 grandchildren: Alexiis Nobles-Ivory, Christopher Nobles Jr., Asia Nobles, Jaylen Nobles, Chrishauna Nobles, Treasure Nobles, Neriah Graves, Jazzlyn Carroll, Darci Reynolds (John), Dennis Bass (Emily), Alexis Bass, Destynee McDonald, Desiree Myles, and Devonte Myles; 13 great-grandchildren, four godchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, best friends - Will and Edna Barnes and Ray Chatman; extended families – Andrade, Ivory, Walls, and Wilson family; special friends - Kim Chenault, Jackie Polk and Rita Brown and other family members and friends.
