SSG. (Ret.) Keith Andre Surney Obituary

Keith Andre Surney was born to the late Louema Surney and Willie Howard Lewis. He graduated from Carver High School in Chicago, Illinois. A year later he enlisted in the United States Army where his career spanned over 30 years and 9 months. He was the definition of a true soldier to the core. He loved the Army and his many friends and families he encountered throughout his career.
Throughout his Army Career he was awarded many decorations, metals and badges in his army career such as, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, 2 Campaign Stars, Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Army Achievement Medal (6th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award),  Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (4th Award), National Defense Medal (2nd Award), Southwest Asia Service, Medal with Bronze Service Star (3rd Award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3rd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th Award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal, NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Kuwait Liberation Medal and Drill Sergeant Identification Badge.
He was joined in holy matrimony to Rosie on July 16, 2010 and remained in love until his passing.
Keith was a member of Kingdom Life International Church of Wichita Falls, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louema Surney and Willie Howard Lewis, his brother, Sterling Surney and his uncle DeDe.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rosie Surney, his son, Keith A. Surney, Jr., his sisters; Ora Surney, Martha Surney, Vanessa Morgan (Vernon) and Sherry Surney. His nieces; Michelle Surney, Deborah Surney, Nakisha Lynch (Kevin), Jillian Surney, Georgia Surney, Marie Surney, Jamie Lynn, Sharena Surney (Earnest). Nephews; Larry Surney and Sergio. His aunts; Ethel Lewis, Linnie Lewis, Velma Witherspoon and Lois Hampton. Also a host of cousins, military family and friends.
