Rickie Lynn Herd, 66, shed his earthly pain on June 8, 2024 at his home in Wichita Falls, TX. He was born November 3, 1957, in Norman, OK.

Rickie was a family man who proudly worked for the City of Wichita Falls for 25 years, retiring as the Parks Department Supervisor.  He helped to develop the city’s parks, the falls, & almost all of the ornamental structures throughout town, including helping design the Water Mill. He had a passion for the CB radio & music, a love of nature, & working with his hands as a mechanic & carpenter. Rickie was a jack-of-all-trades. Although serious at times, he could make you laugh until you cried. He said what he meant & meant what he said. If you needed him, he was there. Although he didn't have a church home, he loved the Lord. He accepted Jesus as his Lord & Savior & had faith every step of the way!

Rickie is survived by his wife Michelle (Howard) Herd, children Rhonda (Herd) & Nick Patterson of Phoenix, AZ, Rebecca Herd & Jonathon Alfano of Manistee, MI, & Raymon Herd of Wichita Falls, TX; grandchildren James, Raena, Asher, Katlyn, Michael, Raymon, Ricky, Justin, & Everly; great-granddaughter Lillian, nephews & nieces, many family, & friends. He has joined son Rickie Lee Herd, parents Raymond & Phyllis, & sisters Patricia, Kathleen, & Melinda to play dominoes.

Celebration of Life will be June 19, 2024 at 2pm at the Log Cabin in Lucy Park, 100 Sunset Dr., Wichita Falls, TX 76301. A Memorial Service will be held at Grandfield Memorial Park, Grandfield, OK.
