Olivia Gena McKinney, lovingly known as “Nay Nay,” was born on July 10, 1963, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Doris Stevenson McKinney and Othniel McKinney. She passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, at Senior Healthcare in Wichita Falls.
Olivia graduated from Rider High School in 1982, where she excelled in track and set records that reflected her determination and drive. She went on to pursue higher education at Vernon Regional College, earning certifications in Auto Body Repair and Paint, as well as an Electrical Technician license.
In 1997, Olivia moved to Amarillo, Texas, with her daughter, Lakeisha, and worked at Cooper Cross Hines. She later returned to Wichita Falls in 2013 with her spouse, Adriana Gonzalez, with whom she shared 18 beautiful years of love and partnership.
Olivia’s faith was a guiding force in her life. She united with Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age and later became a member of Greater St. Mark Baptist Church.
She is survived by her devoted spouse, Adriana Gonzalez, her four sisters; Pauline Evans (Wichita Falls, TX), Nadine McKinney (California), Anna McKinney (Arlington, TX), and Cheryl McKinney (Wichita Falls, TX); one brother, Othniel McKinney Jr.; her sister-in-law, Shekinah Lundy; Her god given daughter, Lakeisha; six beloved grandchildren, Daytren, Davadjae, Devante, Drey, Daureyon, and Layla; nephews Eric Ingram, Garrick Wayne McKinney Jr., Dominique McKinney, and Dimitrick Lawrence; as well as many more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
Olivia also cherished her special family friends, Annette Dixon and Sheila Dixon, along with Rev. Johnny Mims and First Lady Gloria Mims, who were an important part of her life.
Those who knew Olivia will remember her warmth, strength, and sense of humor. Her last words were a reflection of her outlook on life: “Live every day like it’s your last, because life is short.”
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
