Michael Lewis Dawkins departed from this earthly life on October 22,2022 into the beautiful gates of heaven.
Michael was born August 19, 1963 to the late Billy and Katherine Dawkins in Wichita Falls, Texas. Michael attended school in Wichita Falls, Texas and graduated from Hirschi High School class of 1982. Michael was a trust-worthy, dependable, loyal worker which was instilled in him at a young age. He worked alongside his father in his janitorial service. He also worked at El Chico and for WFISD. He later served his country in the U.S Army where he was stationed at Fort. Ord, in California and Hawaii. Upon his return to Wichita Falls, Texas he gained employment with Howmet where he was employed for 33 years, before his passing. Michael formed many friendships throughout his life.
Michael had that charisma and if you met him you were sure to have a good conversation and hear his beautiful laugh. Michael accepted Christ at an early age and believed in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that he would spend his eternity in heaven.
Michael married the love of his life Roslen (Gates) in 1997. In that union they had two beautiful daughters Markayla and Tiana Dawkins. Michael was a loving and caring husband and a proud father who gave his wife and his girls his all. He had always put his wife and daughters first, he spoiled them rotten and always told them how much he loved them. Michael was a good friend to many and he loved his family and friends dearly. Michael loved to barbecue; he could make barbecue melt in your mouth. Michael’s Ribs and peach cobbler was his trademark. You could find Michael when not working enjoying the outdoors- tinkering in his shed, sitting on the patio with Carter or Khloe (the dogs) listening to his blues, or making some of his mouth watering BBQ. He was preceded in death by his parents Billy and Katherine Dawkins. Michael leaves us to cherish his memories; his wife Roslen Dawkins of 33 years, daughters; Markayla and Tiana Dawkins, brothers; Billy (Linda) Dawkins, Harold Dawkins, Larry (Cynthia) Dawkins of Wichita Falls, Texas. Sister, Bridgette (Larry) Wilson of Philadelphia, PA. and God-Sister Deleta-Rockumore.
John 14: 1-6
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know
Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
