Mae Belle (Waddell) Green

Mae Belle Waddell Green was born on June 22, 1928 in Montgomery County, Texas to the late Leaveal Waddell and Eula Scarlett Waddell. She was one of six children, her siblings were; Ruby Ross, Willie Mae Pleasant, Ethel Singleton "Aunt Duddie", Thelma Waddell and Rev. Eugene Waddell.

She was raised in Decatur, Texas and remained there until she married Richard Green. The newlyweds moved and started life together in Wichita Falls, TX.

They affiliated with the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where she remained faithful unto death. She served in the Progressive Circle, Mission #2, Usher Board #1 and worked with the kitchen committee preparing meals.

Mae Belle worked for the Wichita Falls State Hospital as a Spec. 2 Nurse, her career spanned for over thirty years. She was a member of the Faith City Lodge #12  Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, she worked in the Order for over fifty years and eventually served as the Worthy Matron.

She passed away into the arms of the Lord on May 15, 2023 at the University Park Nursing Center. She was blessed to spend all mother's day with her daughter Kathy before she passed.

Mae Belle is survived by her beloved daughter, Kathy L. Green. her nephew, Tommy Randle (Joyce) and their children: Sherri Randle, Yvette Randle, Rashad Randle and Amber Randle.

Her great nephews, Freddie Randle, Eddie Randle, Sr. (Jessica) and their children; Chanel Randle, Monica Randle, Eddie Randle, Jr., Destiny Randle.

Her other nieces and nephews, the Late R.L. Singleton and his children; Steven and Belinda. The late Joe Singleton (Corene) and children; Renee, Phillip, Mark and the late Windell. The late Rufus Singleton (Karen) and children; Dennis, the late Diane, Danny, Darryl, Rufus, Jr. and Kline. The late James Thomas (Hazel) and children; Renee, Jamie, Toddy, Kory, Jalen and Jolien. The late Rev. Charles Randle (Lula) and children; Alan Randle (Amanda), Tony Randle. Rev Henry Holloway, Laverne Holloway. Floyd Davis, Jr.

Rev. Welton Pleasant, Jr. (Teresa) and children; Welton Pleasant, III., Isaac.  Rev. Milton Pleasant (Nadine) and children; Candace, Lathrice, Dominique.

Her cousins in law;  Wheelis Green, Onita Green and Dionne Green.  Her best friends, Thelma Johnson, Hallie Marzett, Gwen Mitchell and the late Leona Williams.
