MSgt. Ret. Isaiah Rainge Obituary

Isaiah Rainge, MSgt (Ret), USAF, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026. He was born in Snowden, Alabama on May 2, 1936, son of the late Leroy Rainge and the late Fannie (Thomas)
Rainge.

Isaiah Graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Montgomery, Alabama. After graduation he joined the Air Force, he returned home to marry his high school sweetheart,
Louise (Jemison) Rainge.

Master sergeant Rainge served all over the world and received many awards and decorations, most notable he received the Bronze Star twice. After retirement from the Air Force, he received his Master’s Degree in Education and taught High School English in Lubbock and returned to Wichita Falls to teach at Hirschi High School where he also coached the speech and debate team.

He later returned to government work as a Civilian Crew Chief Instructor, where he trained and inspired the next generation of aviation professionals before retiring once more. He dedicated his time to teaching English as a Second Language, at Region 9 for many years. He also volunteered at the Sheppard Air Force Base Retiree Office, supporting fellow veterans until his health started to fail.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Louise, brothers Lee Edward, Willie and Jessie; sisters, Ellen, Geraldine and Dorothy and great-granddaughter Ava.

Master Sergeant Rainge is survived by his daughters Valerie (Jake) Franklin and Yvette Rainge, grandchildren, Jonathan (Nik’Cole) Rainge-Berry, Michael (Tonya) Rainge, Laura Berry, Dominique (Yusef) Lewis, Sara Turner and Stephan Berry, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his brother Arthur, sisters Josephine and Eloise, nieces, nephews and adopted son
Anthony Barnett (Kim). Master Sergeant Rainge will be remembered as a man of integrity, intellect, and compassion—a devoted father, a respected leader, a gifted teacher, and a selfless volunteer. His life’s work leaves an enduring impact on his family, his students, his fellow service members, and the broader community.

His legacy reminds us that service does not end with a uniform—it continues in every life we choose to uplift.
