John Wesley Murray

John Wesley Murray passed away in Hospice of Wichita Falls on November 11, 2023. Johnny was born in Electra Texas on March 5, 1956.  He was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church where he was baptized in 2020. He attended school in Archer City beginning in the 1st grade and didn't move from Archer City until he was 18 and from that time after primarily lived in Palestine, TX. He worked most of his life in the oil field. He was married to Carol Sharples in 1981, she preceded him in death in 2019. One of his proudest times in life was when he started raising money for abused women by completing one mile walks in a dress and red high heels Later in his life his most enjoyable times was spent with grandchildren and when he had time, in the evenings, singing karaoke, usually country and western, of course. Survivors include: 3 sons: Tommy Sharples, John Wesley Murray, Jr., and Jamie Sharples; 1 daughter, Tracy Calhoun; 2 sisters, Brenda Percy and Jo Welter and (grandchildren) He was preceded in death by his Parents JC and Nelda Murray who passed away within 11 days of each other in January 2002; 2 sisters, Nancy Wooten March 16, 1999 and Linda Petit December 29, 2019.
