Helen Ruth (Young) Broadnax Obituary

Helen Ruth Young Broadnax was born to King Young Jr. and Elsie Lowe on August 19, 1946 in Waxahachie, Texas. Later she moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where she received her education at Booker T. Washington High School.
She was a person that loved her family dearly. She was a hard worker, she gave her very best to every task that she was given. She would help everybody and sometimes give her last.
Helen worked in the dietary department at Wichita General Hospital, worked as a home health provider, was a supervisor at Sheppard Air Force Base and retained her CNA license.
In 1979, Helen united with Pentecostal COGIC under the leadership of Elder L.C. Pierce. Shortly afterward, she heard the voice of God, He told her to teach his word. She told Pastor and he told her to obey God. She obeyed leadership, she traveled with her church and was very faithful. She served for over forty years as President of the Senior Choir, the job that she loved. She served on the Usher Board for many years, she was the Home and Foreign Mission Teacher and at the time when her health began to fail. She was also  the adult Sunday School Teacher, a job which she loved and served well.
She was Evangelist Pierce’s Armor Bearer and friend. She did not only carry her bag, she prayed for her, loved her, encouraged her, stood by her side through thick and thin, she never left because she took this assignment seriously. Missionary Helen Broadnax was a Charter Member of the Pentecostal COGIC, serving faithfully forty-five years.
Helen and Harry Broadnax were united in marriage in February 2013, he passed away in 2019.
On Sunday, December 15, 2024, Missionary Broadnax peacefully transitioned to a place that knows neither pain or sorrow, a place not made by hands to live eternally with God.
Those patiently awaiting her are her parents, King and Elsie Young, a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Latanya Renee Young, James Edward Young, seven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
