Glenda K. (Burket) Upton

Glenda Kay Upton (Burket), 77, of Wichita Falls passed away on August 7, 2022 with her son by her side in Vernon, Texas. She passed away after an admirable battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at Wilbarger Street Church of Christ on August 27th, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Glenda was born on October 24, 1944 to Clifford Burket and Lillian Smith in Wichita Falls, Texas. Glenda had a great sense of adventure. She lived in many places including the Virgin Islands and Fort Worth and even had a lake cabin where she hosted many card games on the weekends. She eventually settled in Vernon with her son, Justin. Glenda retired as a bookkeeper from Vernon College.

Glenda was the truest friend. She loved fiercely and was always willing to give a second chance. She had many beloved pets over the years but none were more loved than her Schnauzer, Lucky.  She loved to call him her little sugar. She is survived by her son Justin Melugin and wife, Jennifer, Chris Upton and wife, Samantha, her sister Darla Bain and husband, Bobby, a niece Ashley Lehman and her husband Chris, and a nephew, Bryan Bain.  She had 2 grandsons, Mitchell Melugin and wife, Arlene and Jameson Melugin.

Glenda is preceded in death by her mother and father, Clifford and Lillian Burket and Larrie Upton.
