Elder Bobby Washington, Sr Obituary

Elder Bobby Washington, Sr was born on August 22, 1954 in Waco, Texas to the late Lawrence Alexander Washington, Sr and Lillian Marie Sparks-Washington. His family relocated to Burkburnett, Texas where he attended Burkburnett ISD Schools. He graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1973. He joined the US Army and later the US. Army Reserves, serving his country honorably.
Bobby and Jo Ann Reece were joined in holy matrimony June 12, 1981.
He was employed by the City of Wichita Falls for over thirty-two years, retiring in 2017. Bobby then began working as a bus driver for WFISD until his health began to fail.
Bobby gave his life to Christ in the early 1990’s. He joined the Greater Miracle COGICU under the pastorate of Bishop A.J. Ailey. As his relationship with Christ became stronger he accepted his call to the ministry. He faithfully served God, his Pastor and Church until he was called to his eternal home on January 24, 2024.
His willingness to help children and to serve his community lead him to become a legendary coach of the BGC Chargers.
He loved all of his grandchildren and gave them  nicknames like,  headball, blackball, sunflower, smokey, nay nay, dirty red, scoota, little black boy, ace, pretty boy, knot knot, fat boy, head, woo woo, popeye, redman and last but not least baby.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, JoAnn Washington, his sons, Tony (Shunda), Bobby, Jr, Kevin (Sibyl), his daughters, La Donna Sherri (Carl Jr), Bobbie Jean, Lillian and Hope. A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. His brothers, Lawrence (Verlinda) and Lorenzo, his sisters, Dianne, Delores and Linda. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Greater Miracle Family and friends.
