Elaine Owens was a precious gift to the world, born on March 2, 1965, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Diana Owens-Ross and Ricky Hickman. 

She attended Wichita Falls schools and graduated from Hirschi High School in 1984, where she excelled in ROTC and Basketball. Elaine was known for her warm and outgoing personality; she was always kind and ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. 

Raised and baptized at Saint John Baptist Church, Elaine later became a member of New Birth Baptist Church, where she served as a greeter and usher until her health began to decline. 

Elaine was preceded in death by her sister, Uvonda Owens, as well as her maternal grandparents, Joe and Fay Owens, and several aunts and uncles. 

She is survived by her sons, Michael Owens and Demetrius Pope, her mother, Diana Owens-Ross, her uncle, Charles Owens, and a host of cousins and loving friends. She also leaves behind her special friends, Sharon McPherson, Demetria Boone and Gwen Mitchell.
