Rev. Edward Lee Bishop (Ray) was born on August 31, 1945 in Oklaunion, Texas to the late J.B. Bishop and Ida Grant.
He attended high school in Ennis, Texas. Later he was employed as a store manager at the Jiffy Mart in Frederick, Oklahoma. For many years he served as the pastor at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and he also pastored in Crowell, Texas. Throughout his entire life he faithfully attended church and was a God fearing man. Ray also worked as a security guard while living in Dallas. When he returned to Wichita Falls he was always able to bring the word at various churches until the Lord called him home.
He was a member of the Powerhouse Church of God in Christ of Wichita Falls.
Ray was preceded in death by; his parents, J.B. Bishop and Ida Grant, his grandparents, Edward Grant and Pinky Grant, two children, J.B. Bishop and Clearie Denise Kirven “Ne-Ne”, his siblings, Joe Hamilton, Nathaniel Willis, Frank Willis and Juanita Darden.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Cynthia Bishop, his children, Miguel Bishop (Tami), Edward Carson (Tari), Missy Gray (Shannon), Michael Coleman (Allene), his step children, Bernard Agnew (Claudia), Jerry Agnew, Kitha Brown (Benny) and bonus son, Elder Willis Carson, Jr. His siblings, Ellen Willis, Johnny Bishop, Dorothy Smith and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
