Dinah Marie came into this world feet first standing for Christ on june 10th, 1957 to the great Rev. Lulanger Washington Sr. and Wenona Washington in Vernon, Texas who raised her with love, strength, & unwavering support. From a young age, She displayed a vibrant spirit, kind heart, & natural ability to bring joy to those around her. Dinah accepted Christ at an early age. As well as becoming a songbird for the Lord.
Whether it was her infectious laughter. caring nature, or her ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, she was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. At the age of 15 Dinah's remarkable voice gained recognition & was compared to the caliber of Aretha Franklin . Alongside artists like Barbra Streisand, she chose to follow God's direction and did not pursue a secular music career. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1975, where she excelled academically and built lifelong friendships. She then received her degree in business from Draughon’s Business college in 1977. A hardworking & ambitious individual, she pursued a career through Wichita falls appraisal district, Dallas board of parole, Wichita County Jail, Ron Jackson State School, Ramsey Youth Services, Hinds County Detention Center, Hope 4 All & North Texas State Hospital. Her dedication & passion left a lasting impact on colleagues & clients. Following God's guidance, she later devoted her career to home healthcare & daycare assistance, continuing her lifelong calling to care for others. She was deeply committed to her work, always striving to make a difference & leave a positive mark on the world.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dinah was a multi-faceted woman of many passions. She found joy in singing ,changing her hair , nails,& writing. She was always eager to share her talents with those around her. Whether she was singing, speaking life into others, keeping it real , or exploring new destinations. Dinah’s encouraging spirit influenced people from all walks of life from the streets to the sanctuary. She was beautiful inside and out with her vibrant, christ-Like persona. She gained her heavenly wings December 30th, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents Rev. Lulanger Washington Sr. ,Wenona Washington, and Brother Lulanger “Brotha” Washington Jr , whom we take comfort in knowing welcomed her with open arms. Though the pain of her loss is overwhelming, we find solace in the memories she left behind. Her spirit will live on in every shared story, every echo of laughter, and every act of love inspired by her example. We will forever carry her in our hearts.
More than anything. Dinah was devoted to her family and friends. She cherished her relationships & was a source of strength, laughter, & guidance to those who needed her. Her love for everyone knew no bounds, & She took great pride in being a loyal mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, & friend. She is survived by her children Kenneth E. Everett JR. (Atlanta, GA), Shermara G.W. Luckey (Desoto.TX) Glam-children Kylen E. Everett, Kyla L. Julkes, Kylique L.Everett (Atlanta,GA) Ahleigh D. Jackson(DeSoto, TX), Sister Alice F. Watson (Wichita Falls,TX), Loving niece Shunda R.Harris (Chris) and her 3 Beloved nephews DeJon M. Dawsey, Eric L.J. Harris,& Derrick X. Harris (DeSoto, TX) And a host of loving cousins. nieces, nephews, Dear friends, and bonus children.
