Darrell Glen Cooper Obituary

Darrell Glen Cooper was born on January 12, 1942, and passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026. His life was defined by generosity, craftsmanship, and a steadfast commitment to helping others.

A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in 1960, Darrell discovered his passion for plumbing and carpentry at an early age while learning alongside his father in the family’s plumbing school. Those early lessons grew into a lifetime of skill, dedication, and pride in his work. As an independent master plumber, he served the Eastside community for many years, always willing to lend his expertise to friends, neighbors, and anyone in need. He became known not only for his reliability and experience, but for his genuine desire to help.

He found joy i life’s simple pleasures—taking long walks while picking pecans, cooking meals, searching for hidden treasures, and spending time with friends. His home was a place of welcome and warmth, often opening his door to those who had nowhere else to go. Darrell offered comfort, support, and a sense of belonging to many throughout his life.

Darrell is survived by his children, Tina, Sherry, and Angela; his sisters Billie, Marilyn, and Della; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Cooper; his mother, Jestena Cooper; his sisters Theresa and Dorothy; and his brothers AJ, OC, Max, and Arthur Jr.

He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his service to his community, and the care he showed to so many. Darrell’s legacy lives on in the people he helped, the friendships he nurtured, and the kindness he shared freely.
