Dale D. Wood, 87, of Iowa Park Tx went to his heavenly home Monday, January 16, 2023. Dale was born July 12, 1935 in Yankton, South Dakota to Ernest and Clara (Mahanke) Wood. In 1954, he joined the Navy and married the love of his life Wanda L. Moore. He retired in 1974 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He worked until 2004 at SAFB for the Euro-NATO program. He was preceded in death by; his wife Wanda and son, Windell. Dale is survived by his daughter, Renee Roberts and husband, Randy and his son, Baron Wood and wife, Patti all of Iowa Park. He has 4 grandchildren; Kimberly Millington and husband James, Courtney Reames and husband Justin, Derrick Roberts and wife Crystal and Zac Hollar. He has 8 great grandchildren Jonathan, Nicholle, Tristan, Lawrence, Addalyn, Shelby, Trinity and Aleas. Dale has 2 surviving siblings, a brother, Robert Wood and a sister, Phyllis Kay Chance. Our Dad also leaves behind an extended family, friends and his special little buddy Roadie. Anyone who knew our father knew his family was the most important thing in his life. We were all so blessed to have had such an amazing man in our lives and together will mourn his passing. We love you Dad. No services are planned at this time. A memorial service will take place at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wichita County Humane Society. Those we love don’t go away They walk beside us everyday Unseen, unheard but always near Still loved, still missed and very dear.
