Cleadell R. (McGrew) Pryor Obituary

Mrs. Cleadell Rozetta McGrew Pryor was born July 31, 1937, to the late Jessie and Emma (Jenkins) McGrew in Waxahachie, Texas (Ellis County). She was 1 of the 4 siblings in the McGrew household. Cleadell married the late James Eugene Pryor on November 5, 1952, and was blessed with 4 girls, of which one preceded her in death, Etta Jean. Cleadell and James (Gene) shared over 15 years of marriage with love, family, and memories before James (Gene) preceded her in death in 1968.
Cleadell return to school, Odessa College, for a degree in cooking. Cleadell enjoyed cooking and took great pride in her cooking in the various restaurants in Odessa, Texas. She knew everyone enjoyed her meals. The Family looked forward to “Aunt Clea’s” (Mama Clea’s) cooking, whether it was a meal or dessert.
Cleadell later changed her career to nursing and worked at the Wichita General Hospital and various Medical Facilities in Wichita Falls. She was a dedicated Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Medication Nurse (MA), and continued her education to be a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). God blessed her with the skills and a heart of compassion for the sick which enabled her to assist in nursing her mother, Brother, Sisters, and other relatives during their illnesses.
After retiring she moved to California and would be seen on Sunday Mornings taking her grandchildren to Sunday School. She enjoyed attending the various church services. She was a big sports fan-Dallas Cowboys was her favorite football team.
God blessed Cleadell with five generations in her immediate family. She loved her girls, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was quick to tell us during her illness “all she needed was Jesus and her girls”. She wanted her Bible with her at all times (even in her bed). We would pray and read scriptures in addition, the Nurses would pray and read scriptures to her.
Cleadell was called home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Emma (Jenkins) McGrew; Husband, James (Gene)E. Pryor; Daughter, Etta Pryor; Sisters, Estella Manuel, Jessie M. Calvin; Brother, John T. Wilkerson. Cleadell leaves behind to cherish her legacy three daughters, Gloria Pryor, Emma Pryor, LaStella Pryor; Two Granddaughters, Laquietta, Gloria; Four Grandsons, Eddie, James (Amanda), Reginald, Dale; Five Great Grandsons; Seven Great Granddaughters; Four Great Great Grandsons; Two Great Great Granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
