Byron Locke was born on December 5, 1962, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late Ernest Locke and his living mother, Ollie Vincent-Robinson. He completed his education at Hirschi High School, graduating in May of 1980, and furthered his studies at Midwestern State University.
On October 19, 1985, he married Kerterse Locke in Wichita Falls, cultivating a loving partnership that lasted 39 years.
Byron had a passion for dancing, enjoyed listening to music, and was an enthusiastic basketball player.
Byron is survived by his cherished life partner, Kerterse Locke, of Wichita Falls, Texas, and his mother, Ollie Robinson, of Memphis, Tennessee. His brothers, Sedrick Vincent of Waco, Texas, and Calvin McDonald of Memphis, Tennessee, along with his daughters, Somaria Locke (Dallas, TX), Keisha Evans (Memphis, TN), Tamika Thrasher-Bradley (Kenneth Bradley), Tamesha Holt (Wichita Falls, TX), and his sons, Byron Hakeem Locke and Jamal Locke (Wichita Falls, TX). He is also survived by his sister, Valeria Rhodes (Memphis, TN), a host of grandchildren, including Taevyn Locke, Braelon Lawrence, Quinaysa Locke, Kemryn Torrence, JaJa Evans, Bobby Thrasher, Jr., Jamaya Anderson, Bria Garnett, Kiayra Bradley, Harlem Locke and Domanic Thrasher (in absentia) an also nieces and nephews from Memphis, Tennessee.
Additionally, Byron is remembered fondly by special friends and family members: Richard Bowen, Sharon and Abduhl Bedford, LaRon Shauntee (Wichita Falls, TX), Telly Snell, Cassidy Jorgensen, and Margaret Kelley (Lincoln, NE).
Byron Locke’s legacy will endure through the love and memories held by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
