Betty J. (Walker) Robertson Obituary

God blessed Tom and Myrtie Walker on March 12,1932 with their 6 th child, Betty Joe Walker in Olney, TX. Betty attended her high school years in Valley View, TX where she played on the volleyball team and graduated in 1949. Betty got married and divorced with having three children to raise all on her own: Mike, Sharon, and Vickie.

Betty worked for Pioneer Restaurants for many years where she met her lifelong friend, Maggie.

Betty and her sister, Robbie, moved to California and then back to Arlington, TX. She was a waitress all those years and in 1981 while working at Old Main Street Cafe, she became the Waitress of the Year for The Dallas-Ft Worth Metroplex. Betty needed to find a job off her feet, so she became employed at the Vernon State Hospital in the steno pool where her job was typing doctor transcripts. After retiring in 2002, she moved back to Iowa Park to be closer to her daughter and grandkids.

She became a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park after transferring her membership from Vernon. At 18, Betty took Jesus to be her LORD and SAVIOR at a Vacation Bible School function in 1949. She has passed her love of GOD, JESUS, and the HOLY SPIRIT by her example of life. Betty fought health issues for many
years, and Breast Cancer Survivor since 2021.

God took Betty to be home to be with him with PEACE in her HEART and SOUL on March 3, 2026 at the age of 93, only nine days short before her 94 th birthday. Betty will be missed but will be seen again by her family, friends and acquaintances that she prayed for every night.

She asked that you all know how much she loved you. She said, “This is not really a sad time for her but a going home time...GOD Comfort and Bless each of you.”

The Family thanks the LORD for such a loving Mother and Friend. We know our mother has made it to her ultimate goal in Heaven and is celebrating alongside the Lord and her family.

The family also wants to thank Hospice of Wichita Falls for the care they provided as well as all the friends that visited and prayed with her. The cards her Sunday School sent and the congregation who remembered her in prayer.

A special thank you to Maggie for the lifelong friendship and calling her every night to share their day and love for each other. Also, special thanks to the Church for providing a meal for the family.
Mike and Vickie cannot express their love and gratitude enough to Sharon for the care, devotion and love that she gave to our mother during the last years and especially the last hours of her journey to meet her Lord and Savior.
