Bernardino, California, to Reginald Eldridge and Lavetta Brown. On June 4, 2025, he peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy defined by strength, compassion, and unwavering love.
Ashford was a journeyman electrician gifted with hands that could bring light where there was none. Whether wiring a home, crafting something from the ground up, or lending a hand to a neighbor, his talents knew no bounds. He was endlessly resourceful, and those around him often said, “If Ashford can’t fix it, no one can.” But beyond his skills, he had a can-do spirit that people came to trust and treasure.
In addition to his talents with tools, Ashford had a deep and abiding love for music. It was a constant in his life a source of joy, reflection, and expression. Whether singing along to his favorite songs, or simply letting music fill a quiet room, Ashford used sound to bring people together and lift their spirits. He was so talented in writing music he used it as a way to zone out and get creative. What truly made Ashford unforgettable was not just what he could do, but who he was. His smile was infectious, his soul was gentle, his heart generous, and his presence deeply grounding. He offered warmth and humor freely never too busy to listen, to help, or to show love.
He was preceded in death by; his grandmother, Estella Manuel and his great grandparents, Jessie and Emma McGrew.
Ashford is survived by his parents, Reginald Eldridge and Lavetta Brown, and his devoted siblings: Lavonya Bagby, Philip Thomas and wife Talisha, Crystal Truitt, Samantha Hawkins and husband Ezekiel, LaKayla Atlas, Charles Brown and wife Erica, Andrew Calvin, his maternal grandfather, Vernell Bagby (Delery), his paternal grandmother, Doris Parker. His aunts; Jessie Linnear (Richie), Opal Mae, Karen, Kelly Ann Anetta, Valarie Chambers, Vera Carroll and Regina Dixon. Also a host nieces, nephews and cousins. He shared his life with his beloved spouse, Alicia Couch, whose love brought him profound joy, strength, and purpose. Ashford came to know God in a personal and profound way, and his relationship with the Lord gave him strength, hope, and clarity. His spirit was anchored in grace, and those close to him could see the quiet power of his belief. Ashford’s life was a gift to everyone blessed to know him. His humor, kindness, resilience, and music will continue to echo through the memories he left behind and the lives he touched. He will be dearly missed, always loved, never forgotten.
