Reflections of Her Life

Shakya Shayne Smith was born June 4th, 1989 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Lajuana Deann Brown (Smith) and the late Michael Jermaine Owens. Where she lived until passing. Shakya was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Shakya attended Wichita Falls High School (Class of 2007). Her employment of 10+ years was at YMCA childcare.

Shakya was heavily known for her cheery smile and loving spirit. Was never hesitant to help anyone in the time of need. Her love and support for her family and friends was without question.

Shakya departed her life on Sunday, December 29th, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father Michael Owens, Grandmother; Rose Smith, aunt; Teresa Thornton and brother; Michael Brown.

Shakya leaves to cherish her memory: her one and only son Shakir Legend Smith; mother Lajuana Brown, grandmothers Lillie B. Smith and Theresa Haywood her siblings, Jerry Smith, (twin) Lakya Smith, Michoela Owens, and Michelle Brown; her nieces and nephews, Jaylynn Smith, Kiylynn Smith, Jakahri Smith-Owens, Ava Smith-Berry, Willie Davis Jr., Leeshaun Davis, Aiden Smith, and Gabrielle Williams; a host of Aunt’s and Uncles and cousins extended family and a host of friends.
