Monroe Brooks, III., 65 gained his wings on October 27, 2018 and now walks on the streets made of gold. He was born on May 9, 1953 in Wichita Falls to the late Monroe Brooks, II. and Jimmie Brooks. He was rasied in a chiristian home and professed Christ as his savior.
He graduated from Hirschi High School in 1973. After high school he entered into the beginning of a promising Boxing career.
Monroe was record was 109-5 . He won the Golden Gloves five times. He was also a five-time Red River National titleist and a three-time Diamond Belt champion.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Cynthia Brooks, his children; Monroe, IV., Antwan, Montrell and Ashley. His grandchildren; Trilicia, LaShawn, Jazmine, DeShawnia, Monique, Monroe, V., Imani and DeSean. His siblings; Overton Brooks, Ray Brooks, Josie Rose (Glen), Sharon Newsome (Anthony), his uncle; Wilbert Greathouse, his aunts; Carolyn Price, Jessie Lee Williams. Several nieces, nephews and extended family. Special friends; Angela Flenoy, Marilyn Denson, Lloyd Gipson, Jerry Smith, Gary Raymond and all of his friends in the boxing community.
