Reflections of Jose's Life

Jose Manuel Martinez affectionately known as Catfish was born on December 22, 1981 in  Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Jose Martinez and Diann Rodriguez Martinez.

He loved family gatherings with home cooked meals and he adored his princess "Fatgirl". His strongest love was that he shared with his wife Ruby, they have loved each other since elementary school and later married in 2009.

Jose enjoyed football, golfing, fishing and his nephew, Kobe. His personality was infectious and he was always up to meeting new people, making new friends and doing new things.

He loved his family and his friends like family. He also kept a special place in his heart for the pets he had throughout his life. He was received by God on Saturday, September 16, 2017.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents: Jose Martinez and Diann Martinez, his nana: Lupe Malone and his uncle: Charlie Rodriguez.

He is survived by his loving wife: Ruby Martinez, his dog: Fatgirl, his sister: Kristal Toledo and her son: Kobe Toledo, his aunt: Sandra Bailey (George), his special cousins: Melody Goatley, Larry and Diana Goatley, Elyjah Goatley and Iziah Goatley.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that day, 
God was going to call your name. 
In life we loved you dearly, 
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone. 
For part of us went with you, 
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories, 
Your love is still our guide. 
And although we cannot see you, 
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, 
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
