Clara W. (Childress) Foreman

March 19, 1924 ~ January 5, 2019 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Clara Foreman Obituary

Clara Willard Childress-Foreman was born March 19, 1924 in Forth Worth, Texas to Charlie Burford Childress and Charlie Virginia Smith Childress.  She was the only child born to this union.

At an early age Clara accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the Hopewell Baptist Church Crowell, Texas.  During here younger years she was called “District Baby”  by members of the Progressive West Texas Association.

She was united in marriage to Joe T. Colbert who preceded here in death.

She was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church in Paducah, Texas.  She was very active in the community where she was instrumental at the Dunbar Activity Center.  She was also involved in getting the community registered and out to vote.

Later she moved to Wichita Falls, Texas and was united in marriage to A. B. Foreman who also proceeded here in death.  She was a faithful member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church until her health failed and she moved to Austin, Texas where she was under the Watch Care of Pastor A.W. Anthony Mays of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.

In Wichita Falls she was involved in many activities.  She was Director of the Eastside Girls Club.  At Mt. Pleasant she was involved in service with the Scholarship Fund where she solicited donations for the fund.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, a daughter Barbara Ann Childress Cameron, Wichita Falls; a daughter Charlie Virginia Childress Cannon (Billy), Austin Texas; a son Joe C. Colbert (Patsy), Amarillo, Texas.

Grandchildren; Marsha Harrell (Calvin); Derra Washington; Roslen Dawkins (Michael); Tory Anderson; Anthony Anderson; all of Wichita Falls, TX.

Patrick Cannon (Lisa),  Gilbert, Az; Erica Cannon Riley (Timothy, Jr.) Mesquite, TX;

Juanita Colbert; Arlington, TX; Arthur Joe Jones, Borger, TX; Joe Colbert Jr. (Tamilia) Amarillo, TX; Stephanie  Colbert, Amarillo, TX; Whitney Colbert ( Shawana ) San Antonio, TX; Destiny Colbert, Amarillo, TX.

Twenty four (24) Great Grand Children  and four (4) Great Great Grand children.
