Ms. Barbara Lee Calvin was born May 26, 1940 to the late Solomon Calvin and Cecile Page Calvin in New Orleans, LA. Barbara accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age. She was baptized at Battle Ground Baptist Church when the baptismal pool was the Mississippi River. She served as an Usher faithfully until moving to Wichita Falls due to Hurricane Katrina. She was educated in the New Orleans Public Schools. She worked as a housekeeper at Charity Hospital and Mercy Memorial Hospital before retiring to just chill at home.
Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family at gathering. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books & talking on the phone while watching TV shows with her BEST FRIEND FOREVER her sister Beverly. They would talk forever as if the show was for real.
Most importantly she LOVED the Lord. She was a faithful servant and follower of Christ. She spoke boldly about her faith and what it meant to be with God. She expressed this to her children daily and anyone that sat in her presence. Barbara had a special relationship with God. When she gave advice to you it was based on God’s words. It was like you better trust what she said and listen to what she said.
Barbara lived a very happy life and was well prepared to live in her mansion’ “not made by man’s hands.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; Solomon and Cecile Calvin, Sisters; Irma, Joyce, Louise, Delores, one brother Sidney and grandson Delevion.
