Reflections of Her Life

On Friday, November 24, 2017, Pauline Huddleston made her heavenly transition. Pauline Johnson Huddleston was born on February 1, 1925 to parentage of Mr. Nathan Johnson and Mary Holloway. Her family moved to Honey Grove, Texas and there she attended Bradley Pendleton. She was a faithful member of the "Little Blue Church" which is now called Christian Chapel C.M.E.

On March 31, 1969, Pauline married the love of her life, Hughley Huddleston. They resided in Chicago, Illinois for a number of years and later made Wichita Falls their home. They were blessed to  share over forty-six years of matrimony. She worked for many years as a nanny and housekeeper.

While in Wichita Falls she united with the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and remained there until her passing.

Pauline was also a member of the Naomi Chapter # 1310  Order of Eastern Stars since the 1960's. She held many positions as an Eastern Star; Matron and Organizer of the Eastern Star Chapter in Wichita Falls, Grand Associate Matron, Grand Sentinel, First President of the Matron Counsel, until her health prevented her from traveling. She was a Honorary Lifetime Member of the Order of Eastern Stars with over fifty years of dedicated service. Pauline joined the higher degree of Amaranth on May 14, 1976; Honorary Lifetime member at her death. Her picture hangs at the Grand Lodge Hall this very day.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Nathan Johnson and Mary Holloway, her sister; Lucille Savage, her brother; Aaron Davis and her husband; Hughley Huddleston.

Pauline is survived by her: sister; Veda Stevenson, her step-children; Gelata Huddleston, Eugene Huddleston and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Mrs. Annie as some called her will be greatly missed. She was a very loving, caring and compassionate friend to many. People wanted to be around her because of her jovial spirit. God blessed her to have a very fulfilling life. Out of all of her accomplishments the greatest of them all was accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She ate her last supper with friends and departed this place leaving us with many memories. To God be the Glory!
