Mamie Canada Obituary

Mamie Lee Canada was born on June 21, 1944 to Otis and Abell Canada in Mansfield, Louisiana where she was raised along with her twelve siblings. After moving to Wichita Falls she began her supervisory position at Flake Industrial Services. After a long twenty five years she retired from Flake and decided to stay home and help care for her great-grand daughter.

    She was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church until her health began to take a very big toll on her body. Even though that happened, she still remained faithful in the Lord and his Word.

    Mamie is survived by her five children; LaTresa Hagan of Dallas, TX., Clarence Canada (Betty) of San Antonio, TX., Barry O. Canada (Anrdea) of Ft. Knox, KY., Anthony “Bird” Canada  and Jason Canada, both of Wichita Falls. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much. Seven siblings; Evelyn “Shug” Beal of Wichita Falls, Clarice Brown, Oragene Thomas, Cordelia Harris,  Dorothy Wilson, Clarence Canada, Floyd Canada and a host of other relatives and friends.

You can only have one mother,
Patient kind and true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you.

When other friends forsake you,
To your mother you will turn,
For all her loving kindness
She asks nothing in return,

As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all,

Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our dear mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her,
And give her all our love.
